How does delivery work?
Mersey Raw is proud to offer next day frozen delivery to most of the UK, 7 days a week.
Orders made before 1pm will be shipped the same day. Any orders placed after 1pm will be shipped the following day. Our delivery costs £6.95 (free on orders over £65).
As our products are classed as perishable goods, they are sent on a next day delivery service. If you are not at home to receive your order, our couriers will leave it in the safest place possible and if you have not already notified the courier where to leave it.
Mersey Raw accepts no responsibility for orders that have been diverted or left in a safe place, therefore please ensure someone is available to receive your order.
Once your order leaves our warehouse, you will receive tracking information from the courier to the email address or mobile number you have entered on your order. We specifically request that someone be home to take in the parcel, as Mersey Raw is not liable for any parcels that are redirected, or requested to be left in a safe place.
Please note: do not change the delivery date of your parcel - this could result in your parcel being disposed of as it contains frozen goods. Mersey Raw will not replace orders that have been disposed of for this reason.
Our frozen next day delivery costs £6.95 and is free for orders over £65. Any order received before 1pm will be delivered the next day (7 days a week). Orders placed after 1pm will arrive 2 days later.

How much should I give my dog?
We recommend feeding your dog approximately 2-3% of its ideal body weight in raw food per day.
More active dogs should be fed approximately 3-4% of their ideal body weight in raw food per day and less active dogs approximately 1-2% of their ideal body weight.
For puppies, feed them approximately 5-8% of their ideal body weight in raw food per day.
Spread their daily amount into 1-2 servings per day.
As a rough guide, for adult dogs:
Extra small dogs 1kg - 5kg (Dachshund, Pomeranian, Toy Poodle): 30g - 150g per day.
Small dogs 5kg - 10kg (Yorkshire Terrier, French Bulldog, Miniature Schnauzer): 150g - 300g per day.
Medium-sized dogs 10kg - 25kg (Bearded Collie, Cocker Spaniel, Beagle) 150g - 750g per day.
Large dogs 25kg - 45kg (German Shepherd, Labrador, Dalmation) 750g - 1.35kg per day.
Extra large dogs 45kg+ (Irish Wolfhound, Great Dane, Bernese Mountain Dog) over 1.35kg per day.
How to switch to raw dog food?
Switching to raw dog food is easy and straight-forward for almost all dogs.
The easiest way to switch, and what works for 99% of dogs, is to immediately switch from their old food to their new raw dog food.
If your dog is a little reluctant to try new things and perhaps prone to an occasionally upset tummy, one thing that will help them transition to raw dog food is to mix in some warm (not hot) water or add some bone broth.
Is it suitable for puppies?
Yes, Mersey Raw dog food is suitable for dogs of all ages, including puppies.
If your puppy is under 8 weeks old, we recommend serving them our duck, chicken, venison or turkey minces, as they are a touch finer.
Should I add any supplements?
A mixed raw diet has everything that your dog needs to stay fit and healthy.
If you would like to supplement your dog's diet, we recommend supplementing with oily fish, whole raw eggs (including shell), and bone broth.
Once thawed, how long does it last?
Once thawed, our raw dog food is perfectly fine to be used for 4 days, when you keep it sealed in the fridge.
Once thawed, can it be re-frozen?
Yes it can, but you can only re-freeze our raw dog food once and only if it’s remained cool throughout the time it has been thawed.
In the freezer, how long will it last?
Mersey Raw frozen dog food can last up to 12 months in your freezer.

The last few orders have arrived unfrozen and my mother is gravely ill andis hanging on for her dogs but the amount of meat we have had to throw in the bin,And let’s get one thing straight you can not refreeze defrosted raw meat it would make our dogs ill,I have shown proof of the delivery and the defrosted food and I also contacted Mersey Raw about this order and needless to say I’ve had no reply,they need to change their courier service

I’ve been buying Mersey raw for my dog for about a year now. So far I can only describe my experience with them as faultless. Orders arrive on time every time & the produce is always good. The customer service is excellent as well. I’m not a chef but I am an experienced cook. I do recognise meat produce & my knowledge always matches up to what Mersey raw deliver. It is the meat that it says on the box. Can’t see us ordering elsewhere as long as they continue this good work. Well done Mersey Raw.

I have bought a wide variety of raw foods for my dog due to skin issues and allergies. Ive bought different proteins and different brands from all across the UK, and can honestly say that they don't even come close to the quality of Mersey Raw. Easy to order, great website, super quick delivery and a very fair delivery charge. The food also comes in hard plastic tubs instead of thin plastic wrappers, which has made raw feeding just a little more convenient. The quality of the meat is very high, and my dog absolutely loves it. I couldn't say one bad thing about this company, highly recommend.

2nd time order has been packed without enough ice packs so was semi defrosted when it arrived.
Highly recommened company by peopleni know who feed raw. Purchased a large order but sadly by the time it had arrived to property, all of my tubs of raw food were thawed out, sprats were thawed as well. Due to not knowing how long the food was thawed for(all were warm which indicates a while)all were disposed off. Despite this happening it has not put me off as i struggle to find food my dogs will eat due to unusual allergy. Maybe they have express shipping.

Two of my dogs love this. Other dog is fussy and likes his meat in chunks not minced🤷🏻♀️ However, two out of three’s not bad! It’s well packaged and easy to use.

One of my dogs has a food intolerance so can only have Goat. I found Mersey raw after my usual company was out of stock. The quality of the meat is exceptional and it made me change supplier after 5 years with my previous one. Even when the goat became unavailable Alex at M.Raw kept me updated and let me know as soon as the goat was in stock. Excellent quality product and excellent customer service. (delivery is also very fast - usually 24hrs from order to delivery). I recommend them as a go to raw dog food company.
Have a dog with severe allergies so tried a few of your exotic foods. Most he didn’t agree with but liked the goat - and it seemed to work with his allergies. So I ordered a few weeks worth of just goat. It’s come, it’s a completely different color and consistency to last few times I’ve bought. More rabbit in color - very light and super thick gluey in consistency. It’s hard to even get out of the tub it’s that thick and takes him ages to eat it. It also smells a lot more than the other batches. It’s absolutely not the same as others, im not even sure it’s goat at all as it’s making him react… plus sell by date was Dec 24 and it only arrived in Jan! Lastly, the containers are awful. The plastic lids are hard to get off to start and always pop open once they are unsnapped. Plus the size of them is awkward for storing in fridge and freezer. And tons of plastic waste!

Mum and I brought a box home the other night, and it was very heavy and I could not help her carry it at all. Once in the utility room the box was opened, new material is being used to keep my food frozen, From the box to my freezer all the cartons were carefully placed, under my careful supervision, mum's cannot always get these important things right. Apparently I now have enough dog food to last me until next year so it does not matter if we are snowed in, which sometimes does happen during the winter. I cannot wait to start this collection of food, some are ones I have not had before. My mum looks after me, but so does Mersey Raw. Thank you all
